Advanced Eye Care & Surgery’s full service optical is here to help you see and look your best. The optical at Advanced Eye Care & Surgery offers one of the most extensive designer frame collections in central Texas. Our staff has over 30 years experience in fitting and fabricating precision eyewear. Stop in for a personal consultation with one of our opticians to find out which frames and lenses will offer you the best visual performance while maintaining the style that is important to us all.

We are proud to feature designer frames from Salvatore Ferragamo, Tiffany, Coach, & Tom Ford. You will also find unique eyewear from brands such as Miraflex, Modo , Zero G, Brendel, and Scott Harris. We also carry sunglasses from Maui Jim, Costa, and Wiley X for maximum protection and performance. If designer sunglasses are more your style, take a look at our selection of sunglasses from Tiffany, Tom Ford, Vera Wang, Michael Kors, Kate Spade, Tory Burch, and Coach.

We know that every person is unique and your lenses should be too. At Advanced Eye Care & Surgery we proudly dispense progressive lenses from Zeiss, Essilor, and Hoya that incorporate the latest digital lens technology. This new technology uses not only your prescription, but also the dimensions of your frame and even the position of the lenses in front of your eyes, delivering the best possible vision for nearly every prescription. We feature lenses made from Trivex, the lightest, most impact resistant lens material on the market today. For higher prescriptions, we also offer High Index lenses which will help to minimize the thickness and weight of prescription lenses.

No eyewear would be complete without the ‘finishing touches’. These include anti-reflective and photochromic treatments. The anti-reflective coating on a lens actually allows more light to travel through the lens and into your eye, resulting in fewer reflections. This benefit allows others to see your eyes more clearly and helps to reduce glare caused by fluorescent lights, computer screens, and oncoming headlights at night. Photochromic or Transitions lenses darken automatically when exposed to ultra-violet light. While these lenses are not intended to replace sunglasses, they do make vision in bright sunlight much more comfortable.

3D Scleral Topography
Why are Scleral Lenses so comfortable?

Scleral lenses vault over the cornea and rest on the white portion of the eye (sclera), which is less sensitive. They fit under the eyelid, resulting in comfort & stability.

Why do Scleral Lenses offer superior vision?

They are manufactured in Gas Permeable (GP) material which provides a smooth optical surface and excellent vision even if your cornea has an irregular shape. Scleral lenses treat astigmatism and are available with bifocal options.

What is the 'Liquid Bandage' effect?

Scleral lenses provide extra moisture for healthy eyes, as well as for patients with severe dry eyes. The space between your eye and the back of the scleral lens acts as a fluid reservoir that provides constant moisture & comfort.

The video below shows how the sMap 3D is used to virtually design a custom scleral contact lens in our office. The measurements are used to precisely fabricate a scleral contact lens that is uniquely fit to the precise contours of the sclera, resulting in optimum fit and comfort and outstanding vision.
